Legal Counsel, Group M&A and UK Commercial

Strengthen the Richemont Group Legal team by providing legal advice and assistance in relation to the Group’s M&A projects and on its UK commercial matters, focusing on promoting legal and operational excellence and – as part of the \’One Legal Team\’ within Richemont Group Corporate Affairs – fostering seamless collaboration with other Group Legal teams plus internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in supporting the Richemont Group’s M&A strategy by advising on and managing legal aspects of transactions throughout their life-cycle from inception to post-merger integration. Work closely with Group M&A and the Group M&A Director’s team on transactional work, including managing external counsel, drafting and negotiating, and providing risk-based legal advice on strategic projects.
  • Apply the M&A skillset to commercial legal matters for Richemont’s UK business across a wide range of topics, broadening the business perspective.
  • Bring confidence and creativity to the role, working independently within a team-oriented environment.
  • Provide timely and results-oriented legal advice and support on a wide variety of matters across both M&A and commercial lines of business to the relevant Richemont stakeholders in the UK and globally.
  • Respond to ad‑hoc queries, identifying, analysing and evaluating risks to provide appropriate legal solutions, including regulatory compliance.
  • Draft, review, negotiate and comment on a wide variety of corporate, transactional and commercial documents, including those specific to M&A projects.
  • Support the monitoring and management of compliance risks relating to legal, sustainability, regulatory matters, prepare and adhere to Group policies and procedures, and contribute to Group Legal’s knowledge management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across Richemont Functions, Regions and Maison business teams, and liaise with and manage external counsel.
  • Draft, review and contribute to Group Legal memos, guidelines, business rules, processes in close collaboration with Group Maisons, Functions and/or Regions and the central Group Legal Team.
  • Participate in and, where appropriate, project‑manage legal operations projects aligned with the agenda set by the Group General Counsel, the Chief Counsel, Richemont and Regions and the Legal Leadership Team.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of and adherence to Richemont Group values, focusing on the “How” things are done.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years post‑qualification experience providing M&A and/or corporate legal advice on a wide variety of transactional matters in a multinational environment, including experience at an international law firm and ideally in‑house experience (including secondments).
  • Qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and project‑managing M&A and corporate work, with general commercial experience and business acumen, particularly in commercial real estate and distribution. Experience in the luxury industry is highly valued.
  • Solid grasp of legal principles, including foreign law, and the ability to adapt quickly to different tasks and areas of law.
  • Key personal strengths: initiative, proactivity, responsiveness, maturity, gravitas, strong stakeholder management, highest work standards, outstanding oral and written communication, adaptability, strong analytical skills, focus on detail and structure, and collaborative teamwork.
  • Ability to seek professional development opportunities confidently and respectfully.
  • Native or fluent English; French and/or Italian language skills are a plus.
  • Digitally savvy with routine use of AI and strong prompting, command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and shared work and project‑management environments (SharePoint, Monday.com, other tools).
