At the heart of our Maison's creative vision, the Senior Designer, Tailoring will lead the concept and development of our iconic Tailoring collection. This pivotal role is instrumental in shaping the category deeply integral to our heritage and renowned for its unparalleled craftsmanship. You will be tasked with the seasonal evolution of the Ready to Wear tailoring collection and Custom, made to measure fabric collection, respecting the timeless approach to the Maison's legacy through a highly qualitative and subtle approach to design for our discerning global clientele. This involves extensive collaboration with the fabric development team, thoughtful design with exceptional proportions, detail and finish. Close collaboration with our key tailoring suppliers while maintaining an evolved English expression in luxury menswear.

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

  • Research & Concept: As a central role in the design team, provide comprehensive research, working closely with the creative director and the Menswear design and fabric team, to define seasonal colour palette, fabric development, creation of seasonal mood boards and presentation rigs, Design and Fabric to Sketch process, fittings and all aligned with the Maison's overarching creative strategy.
  • Collection Development: Take full ownership of the design and meticulous management of the tailoring design process, from initial concept through to final approval and production of exquisite samples. Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship, fit, proportion, detail and finish. Adhering to the critical path in close partnership with the fabric and product development teams.
  • Creative Partnership: Work in direct collaboration with the Chief Creative Officer, and Design and Fabric team to establish seasonal visual codes and narrative, ensuring seamless coordination through every stage of the design and development process, reflecting the Maison's brand platform.
  • Collaboration with Merchandising: Partner with Merchandising to ensure the fusion of the aesthetic vision and commercial strategy, respecting the collection architecture as outlined in the seasonal menswear brief.
  • Material Excellence: Collaborate with our dedicated Fabric development team and external partners to select and develop the most tasteful, refined and qualitative fabrics, trims, and components with highly attuned sense of heritage colour and pattern, reflecting the aesthetic values of the Maison brand platform.
  • Development Cycle: Maintain continuous liaison and coordination with Merchandising and Product Development throughout the entire product development cycle, ensuring design intent is perfectly executed.
  • Technical Artistry: Work closely with garment technical team to ensure precise proportion, size and grading specifications, construction, details and optimal fabric suitability.
  • Brand Aesthetic: Constantly strive for a profound expression of English style and taste in all decision making on all aspects of the role.
  • Collection Presentation: Prepare and deliver impactful presentations of seasonal collections - both Ready to Wear and Made to Measure to key stakeholders.
  • Showroom Curation: Contribute to the meticulous set-up and presentation of showrooms, reflecting the Maison's elevated brand image.
  • Collection Styling & Visual Storytelling: Play a supporting role in the styling of collections for shows, collection presentations, and marketing campaigns, ensuring a consistent styling narrative.
  • Resource Stewardship: Demonstrate a keen awareness and responsible management of tailoring sample budget and role-related expenditure.
