We are currently working with a contractor who operates in the Civils/Utilities sectors. We are recruiting for a Works Planner/Scheduler based in their Hertfordshire office. We are specifically looking for candidates who have already worked in a planning and scheduling environment and have a strong understanding of the demands of the role. This is not an entry-level position — you must be confident managing multiple operatives, priorities and changing workloads.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of live works for both connections and mains activities, including:
- Booking plant, machinery, materials, permits, and traffic management
- Managing works from excavation through to reinstatement
- Provide clear and timely communication with clients and customers, including:
- Attending regular client meetings
- Responding to enquiries and providing updates
- Use company and client work management systems to plan works, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates.
- Liaise with Supervisors to re-plan work or reallocate resources as required throughout the day.
- Review, update, and act on changes to the Daily Whereabouts, maintaining awareness of past, current, and upcoming works.
- Ensure job packs are completed and distributed to operational teams where required.
- Comply with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong Health and Safety culture.
