MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and coordinate daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while meeting production throughput, quality, and labour utilisation targets.
- Supervise, coach, and develop frontline employees through performance management, training, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Monitor production, quality, and safety performance metrics; identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of Lean manufacturing and operational improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Safety, Quality, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to maintain compliance with food safety, GMP, sanitation, and workplace safety standards, including participation in audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Lead shift communications, team huddles, and operational coordination activities while supporting emergency response efforts and maintaining accurate operational documentation and reporting.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Associate degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, or related technical field preferred.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or high-speed production environments preferred.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or behaviour-based safety programs preferred.
- Strong leadership, organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, cold, noisy, and crowded manufacturing environments.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, crawl, climb ladders, reach, and grasp frequently throughout the shift.
