Richardson’s UK operations encompass oat milling, malting, animal feed and ingredient processing. Operating under Richardson Oat Milling, Crisp Malt, EDME, and Micronized Food Products (MFP), Richardson supplies the domestic and international food, brewing, and distilling industries.
We currently have an opportunity for a Finished Goods Operator at our Crisp Malt, Great Ryburgh location.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Finished Goods Manager; The ideal candidate will be able to work equally effectively in a team environment and on their own, will have good communication skills, be capable of taking responsibility for their work area and production requirements, good attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to ensure process timings and quality requirements are met. Experience working shifts within a production role would be preferable. FLT certificate not essential as training will be given. Applicants must be physically fit due to the level of manual operations required in this role. The role will also provide support to the site Hygiene team as and when required to meet the demands of the business. This role operates day’s on rotating shifts between the hours of 06:00am and 22:00pm.
Key Duties and responsibilities
- Comply with company policies and any training always received.
- The Health & Safety of yourself and colleagues is always maintained by following Safe Systems of Work, training and wearing correct PPE as required. Reporting of Accidents, Near Misses and Hazards
- Ensure that the workplace is always maintained to acceptable standards to reduce to the risk of Hazards.
- Ensure that plant and equipment is always operated safely & correctly to deliver operational efficiencies.
- Support other areas of the business if requested to meet operational needs.
- Raise and report plant defects using the CMMS.
- Support engineering activities as required to ensure timely manner of repair to minimize production downtime.
- Carry out any routine inspections of plants or equipment as requested.
- Carry out hygiene tasks across the site as required to maintain standards.
- FLT Operations to move stock between production and warehouse and loading of vehicles.
- Operations of the malt handling, bagging, and crushing plant equipment
- Use of site stock control label and scanning PDA systems
- Completion of productions records, reporting maintenance and safety issues
General Responsibilities
- To demonstrate and support a commitment to Equal Opportunities, diversity, and customer care in accordance with established good practice and guidelines.
- To ensure that own personal performance and knowledge are continuously assessed for improvement.
- Support the Maltings Manager, Finished Goods Manager and Sales & Marketing teams with preparation and delivery of site visits and experience days.
- Site audit preparation and support during and for inspections external agencies, Environmental Agency, HSE, customer audits as required.
- To have up to date knowledge of H&S working directives and good practice. Awareness of own health and safety and how it may affect others in the workplace. Report any health and safety concerns to your line manager or Group Health and Safety Manager.
- Take responsibility for ensuring you are fully trained and aware of all company policies and procedures.
- To always promote the company and the work of the team in a positive manner.
