We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer (Multiskilled) at our EDME, Mistley location.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Multiskilled engineer carries out planned and reactive maintenance of all site and plant equipment to ensure the required levels of malt production are achieved, work to be in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), all trade related legislation and best practice. The position provides call out cover for out of hours breakdowns.

Responsible for
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Contribute efficiency improvements around all areas of the site.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement on site by maintaining a vigilant approach to your work, identifying, and reporting any areas of interest to site management.
  • Complete maintenance paperwork/computer entry in line with company procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to the operation of equipment, where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant, where appropriate.
  • Carry out basic mechanical repairs.

  • Carry out other duties from time to time that may be reasonably requested.

Essential
  • Recognised Apprenticeship/Engineering qualification, BTEC, HNC or equivalent.
  • C&G 2360 part 2 or BTEC, HNC, NVQ equivalent with industrial electrical bias.
  • Demonstrable ability in mechanical testing, fault finding, installation & inspection. (PUWER)
  • Demonstratable problem solving abilities and Quality awareness
  • Confident in using computer-based maintenance systems and Microsoft.
  • Knowledge of Motors, Inverter Drives, Soft Start systems.
  • Full UK driving license.
Desirable
  • Experience working within Maltings with knowledge of DSEAR regulations.
  • Material Handling Systems, Bucket Elevators, Belt Conveyors, Screws, Diverters etc.
  • Familiar with PLC systems.
  • BS761 Electrical Installations Course (Latest edition).
  • Experience with lifting equipment (LOLER).
  • Demonstratable ability in Turning and Milling.
