We currently have an opportunity for a Hygiene Operator at our EDME site, Mistley location.
Main Purpose
To work within the Hygiene Operative function, maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping across production, warehouse, and yard areas, while ensuring compliance with food safety, health & safety, and BRC standards. Working closely with the Hygiene Team, Production, Warehouse, and Engineering departments, the role supports the maintenance of a safe, clean, and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- GMP and Site Hygiene
- Carry out cleaning duties in production, warehouse, and external yard areas in line with site cleaning schedules.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and hygiene standards throughout the site.
- Ensure cleaning tasks are completed safely, effectively, and in accordance with company procedures and targets.
- Use approved cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly and safely.
- Pest control
- Support the monitoring and reporting of pest and insect activity across the site.
- Assist with investigations and corrective actions where required.
- Help maintain pest control standards in line with company procedures.
- Food Safety
- Follow all company food safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Support compliance with relevant food safety legislation and BRC standards.
- Help achieve company food safety objectives and maintain a culture of food safety awareness.
- Health and Safety
- Work in accordance with all company health & safety procedures and policies.
- Support compliance with relevant health & safety legislation.
- Report hazards, accidents, near misses, or unsafe practices promptly.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
Skills & Experience
- Previous hygiene or cleaning experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of hygiene and housekeeping standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
