Overview

Richard Rose Central Academy is based in the heart of the border city of Carlisle on the edge of the Lake District. We provide high quality education to 11–18-year-olds from across the city. United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check. We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.

The Role

We are seeking to recruit invigilators to assist in the fair and proper running of our GCSE and A Level exams throughout the year, but predominantly in January, May and June. Central Academy prides itself on the smooth running of our exams in order to provide a supportive atmosphere to enable students to achieve their best.

Invigilators are given a timetable detailing the duration of examinations which may vary. Training is mandatory and a DBS check is compulsory for the selected applicants. Offers for this post will be subject to satisfactory references. The contract would be on a casual basis. Previous experience would be advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the fair and proper running of GCSE and A Level examinations throughout the year (predominantly January, May and June).
  • Attend mandatory training and comply with DBS requirements.
  • Follow the timetable provided for examination durations and locations.
  • Ensure a calm and supportive examination environment for students.
