In this front office position, you will lead client interactions and drive the execution of commodity trades within the Metals and Energy sector, with a primary focus on Precious Metals products. You will work closely with a diverse range of clients to deliver tailored solutions, where you will support with originating new business opportunities while also maintaining and developing existing client relationships across the EMEA region. This role will give you both the opportunity, and the autonomy to shape the sales strategy whilst enhancing the client offering β allowing you to make an impact from day one.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Marketing/cross-selling across Precious Metals (main focus), Base Metals and Energy, primarily in EMEA region
- Build new and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, understanding their unique needs
- Oversee the trade execution process, ensuring accuracy in trade booking, order taking, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Mentor junior team members in best practice for trade execution
- Analyse market trends and drivers to identify new business opportunities
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives that align with market conditions and client needs
- Partner with trading and risk management teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients
- Facilitate effective communication between departments to enhance client service
- Lead efforts to refine and optimise the sales process
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth
- Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
- Significant experience in commodities sales (ideally 7+ years), with a focus on Precious Metals products
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Solid leadership qualities with a collaborative mindset and experience mentoring junior colleagues
- Deep understanding of client needs and the ability to deliver exceptional service
- Advanced proficiency in analytical tools and knowledge of credit risk related metrics
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance
