Our client is a fast‑growing international commodity trading group headquartered in Central London. With an active portfolio spanning energy and raw materials, they are seeking a motivated Trade Accountant to strengthen their finance team during an exciting period of expansion.
This is a broad and hands‑on finance role, responsible for the preparation of financial statements, group consolidation, treasury support, and oversight of day‑to‑day accounting operations. You will also support senior management with financial analysis and insights to guide business decisions across both the trading business and smaller subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyse, and present financial statements for the company and subsidiaries.
- Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger activities.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, providing regular updates to management.
- Prepare and consolidate group financial reports for internal and regulatory purposes.
- Work closely with auditors, tax advisors, and other external partners to ensure compliance.
- Assist in developing and embedding financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Deliver financial analysis and insights to support management decision‑making, including pricing strategies and investment opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance, ideally within commodity trading, shipping, or mining.
- Fully or part‑qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent).
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel.
- Proactive and hands‑on approach, able to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Additional European languages an advantage.
