Our client is an integrated trader of Commodity and Energy products including, Gas, Power, LNG and Oil products based in Central London.
As a Settlements Analyst in the Oil team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate settlement of Physical Oil, Biofuels and Products. This involves raising the invoices in the ETRM, checking relevant shipping documents and approvals to ensure complete settlement packs for both purchases and receivables are raised. Processing payments and ensuring cash is received. The job holder must have excellent team working and interpersonal skills, due to required interaction with a wide range of stakeholders. Analytical skills and problem solving are also key.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Settlement of Physical cargos for Oil, Biofuels and Products, also including Freight, Demurrage and other cargo related costs following the industry master agreements standards and definitions.
- Price confirmation with counterparties and invoicing of sales both provisional and final invoices.
- Ensuring settlement dates comply with the payment due dates specified in the Master Agreements.
- To ensure timely receipt and payment of funds, liaising with Treasury, Compliance and Front Office as required, taking appropriate action where any issues are identified.
- Supply daily/weekly cash forecasting for Treasury detailing purchases and sales in order to provision cashflow.
- Developing strong relationships with traders, operators and the business, working to resolve disputes and ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Resolving third party disputes proactively.
- Support the month-end process, working closely with accounting.
- To work on IT change requests and projects, identifying process improvements.
- Supporting the counterparty set up process in Symphony, ensuring all controls are met.
- Chasing of overdue Debtors
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Degree in Finance/Banking/Commercial/equivalent
- Proven relevant experience, with thorough understanding of the settlement process and industry related compliance requirements.
- Minimum 1 year’s relevant settlement experience in Physical cargoes essential
- Solid industry knowledge on the physical and financial side of trading activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and trading/accounting system (SAP experience is a plus).
- Excellent team working and networking skills.
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, positive and proactive.
