Our client is a very exciting and fast-growing Central London-based, international Energy & Commodity trading company seeking a talented and experienced Group Accountant/Controller to join their dynamic team
As a senior finance executive, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting decision-making processes.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare, analyse, and present financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, providing regular updates to the management team
- Prepare, consolidate, and submit financial reports to regulatory authorities and stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes, including pricing strategies and investment opportunities
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA qualification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the energy industry or commodities trading
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including IFRS and GAAP
- Experience with producing financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Proficient in financial software and MS Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
