Our client is a leading Energy Trading business based in London. As the Product Control Analyst, you will be part of a fast-paced environment where using initiative and collaborating is highly encouraged.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepare detailed analysis and commentary on financial reports
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes
- Standardize and streamline processes through automation tools
- Identify control or reporting issues, propose process improvement ideas, and coordinate resolution in an accurate and timely manner
- Collaborate closely with Trading, Scheduling, Settlements, Risk, Treasury, and Tax departments on new business initiatives, key business transformation projects, and various ad-hoc business requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- Candidates with an accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or in the process of getting the qualification are preferred
- Candidates with 2+ years of experience in Product Control or relevant fields will be considered.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop lasting working relationships
- High level of accuracy and diligence in financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Strong preference will be shown to candidates with SQL, Python, Alteryx or Tableau knowledge
