Our client is a global energy & commodity trading group, with offices worldwide. Officially working as part of the broader London trading team, you will support the growth of the metals trading function across Europe. It is essential that the candidate has relevant Metals Operations experience and market knowledge, with a passion for commodity trading and the ability to work under pressure.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Execution of trade contracts with Counterparty.
- Taking and arranging deliveries.
- Organizing Quantity and Quality checks of the cargo.
- Checking invoices and preparing cargo valuations.
- Checking shipping documentation.
- Confirming Pricing.
- Coordinate end-to-end logistics for physical trades in metals and/or minerals, including shipping, warehousing, blending, customs clearance.
- Manage trade documentation such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, invoices, and inspection reports.
- Liaise with counterparties, freight providers, inspection companies, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory movements, shipment schedules, and delivery timelines.
- Support traders with operational insights and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and internal control policies.
- Maintain accurate records in trade management systems and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications & Attributes Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations related to metals and/or minerals.
- Strong knowledge of international logistics, Incoterms, and trade documentation.
- Experience in metals/mining companies and/or commodity trading houses.
- Experience working with trading platforms and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- English language is a must for fluent oral and written communication.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
