Are you an Oil Products operator looking for a move into LNG Operations? Our client is a global trading and logistics company in the energy sector, managing the movement and optimization of commodities while coordinating with partners and stakeholders across international markets. This is a newly established position due to business expansion and will join an established LNG desk. You will be responsible for all aspects of the physical operation of LNG cargoes, from executing trades in line with contractual terms to liaising with cargo surveyors, shipping agents, and counterparties. This role oversees all aspects of the voyage in accordance with the Charter Party and acts as the primary point of contact for Vessel Masters, Owners, and Brokers.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure structured cargo operations.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all operational aspects of LNG sales and purchase contracts.
- Ensure completion of all assurance aspects of LNG shipping, including SSCS, vessel, port, berth, and terminal clearances, while delivering safe, compliant, and reliable voyage planning and execution.
- Manage the issuance of cargo and shipping documents within the contractual chain; generate and issue voyage orders, including load and discharge instructions.
- Verify accuracy and timely settlement of payments and calculations, including invoices, PR for cargoes, shipping costs, and demurrage calculations/negotiations.
- Conduct operations in compliance with HSSE and company standards; recognize and correct out-of-compliance conditions.
- Collaborate with traders to implement new strategies, evaluate contracts, maximize commercial value, and perform post-deal reconciliation and review.
- Appoint independent surveyors to witness cargo loadings and discharges; analyse reports to ensure clear communication and cargo integrity.
- Work closely with Legal/Contracts, Mid and Back Office, Tax, Finance, and Credit teams to ensure compliance with trading processes and procedures.
- Maintain timely and accurate data entry of operational information in relevant systems.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with third parties, including terminals, shipping companies, surveyors, and marketing partners.
- Monitor and calculate shipping claims, including demurrage, and pursue claims under the Contract or Charter Party as appropriate.
- Provide market research, analytics, and intelligence to Traders.
- Support Traders, Business Developers, and Charterers with contract reviews and deal negotiations.
- Participate in knowledge transfer and training of new/junior team members as necessary.
- Act in compliance with contractual obligations and corporate procedures, following company guidelines and authorities.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in LNG operations within a global LNG business environment OR Oil products Operations within a Trading environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the LNG business value chain.
- Excellent communication skills and familiarity with trading systems.
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive, accountable approach and the ability to develop alternatives and solutions.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing environments.
