We're currently partnering with a well-established international metals trading business to recruit an experienced Metals Trade Support professional to join their London office.

Our client has built a strong reputation within the global metals market, trading internationally and developing long-standing relationships through operational excellence, reliability and exceptional customer service.

As the business continues to grow, they are looking to strengthen their operations team with an experienced professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced trading environment.

Working closely with Traders, Finance, Logistics, banks and external counterparties, you'll play a key role in supporting the full trade lifecycle, ensuring transactions are executed accurately and efficiently from contract through to settlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end trade lifecycle for physical commodity transactions.
  • Prepare and manage trade documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Process and administer Letters of Credit and associated banking documentation.
  • Liaise with banks, customers, suppliers, warehouses and freight providers to ensure smooth execution of trades.
  • Coordinate shipments and monitor contractual obligations through to completion.
  • Resolve operational queries and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Traders, Finance and Logistics teams to ensure seamless trade execution.
  • Maintain accurate trade records and ensure compliance with internal controls and company procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a commodity trading environment is essential.
  • Metals knowledge would be highly advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience managing Letters of Credit is essential.
  • Good understanding of international trade documentation and import/export processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
