Our client is a leading Energy company, and trader of Commodity and Energy products based in London. Working as part of the wider Operations team, supporting the Crude Oil trading team, the successful candidate will have work-based experience in operating Crude Oil (with a focus on North Sea). You will enjoy a fast-paced environment, and support some of the best traders in the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Co-ordinate cargo operations from trade inception to completion (cargo operations cycle).
- Work closely with traders, refinery schedulers, shipping, credit, settlement, demurrage etc. once deals are concluded.
- Work independently in handling varied operational issues.
- Liaise with counterparties in other oil companies regarding documents and requirements for cargoes.
- Ensure all operational aspects of contracts are adhered to.
- Issue voyage orders to shipping/counterparties and monitor progress of vessel, informing trading of any changes in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of each cargo including prompt and accurate filing.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Previous relevant work-based experience in operating of crude oil.
- Understanding of industry standards and their commercial impact, as well as market trends/drivers, competitor markets, terminals, logistics and refinery operations in area of responsibility.
- Careful about details, thorough in completing work tasks, ability to discern discrepancies in data and reports.
- Facilitating analysis and resolution of multiple problems with critical timelines and multiple teams.
- Required to handle multiple complex and challenging operational issues.
