The successful candidate will join a close-knit team comprising of Traders, Shippers and Accounts. This role would suit a school/college leaver with good attention to detail and a hardworking/conscientious attitude who wants to build their knowledge of the industry by supporting the existing team of experienced Shippers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:- Monitor the status of different cargos whilst the goods are in transit;
- Issue and raise contracts for the Traders, issue pricing letters, packing lists, invoices, certificates of origin and send to customers;
- Arrange payments to suppliers, warehouses, freight forwarders;
- Input shipping and trading data into the trading system (ITAS);
- Liaise on the telephone and via email with customers, warehouses and freight forwarders;
- General administration support and ad-hoc duties.
- GCSE Maths and English are essential – skills tests will be issued at interview;
- High attention to detail is essential – candidates will need to demonstrate accuracy, numeracy and proof-reading skills;
- Fluent in Spanish would be beneficial, but is not essential;
- The ability to accurately input volumes of detailed data into complex accounting and trading systems;
- Strong communication skills both oral and written in terms of clarity and the ability to manage customer expectations;
- Good all-round knowledge of and competency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel;
- A team player who can demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional tasks;
- Comfortable with the responsibility of working to deadlines and meeting customers’ requirements.
