Our client is a fast-growing international commodity trading group headquartered in Central London. With an active portfolio spanning energy and raw materials, they are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to strengthen their finance team during an exciting period of expansion.

This is a broad and hands-on finance role, responsible for the preparation of financial statements, group consolidation, treasury support, and oversight of day-to-day accounting operations. You will also support senior management with financial analysis and insights to guide business decisions across both the trading business and smaller subsidiaries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, analyse, and present financial statements for the company and subsidiaries.
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger activities.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, providing regular updates to management.
  • Prepare and consolidate group financial reports for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Work closely with auditors, tax advisors, and other external partners to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in developing and embedding financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Deliver financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making, including pricing strategies and investment opportunities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance, ideally within commodity trading, shipping, or mining.
  • Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel.
  • Proactive and hands-on approach, able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Additional European languages an advantage.
