Our client is a global energy & commodity trading group and one of the most exciting and commercially driven Commodity Trading houses in the industry!
Working as part of the broader Financial Operations team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day functions within Trade Support/Commodity Operations as well be involved in a wide variety of projects and process enhancements. Products covered are varied and include primarily (but not restricted to) oil derivatives, European Power & Gas, LNG, Emissions and Metals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to understand and reconcile breaks, escalating appropriately to the relevant stakeholders.
- Generate, review and process confirmations for OTC trades
- Familiar with various electronic confirmation matching platforms; ICE eConfirm, FXall, Equias/Fidectus.
- Submit trades for REMIT reporting and monitor for any breaks.
- Review KPI’s daily to ensure aged items and outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all risk items are prioritized and escalated where appropriate.
- Working closely with multiple teams within the organisation and in multiple locations (IT, Scheduling, Trading and Middle Office).
- Analyse and develop team procedures in line with market requirements.
- Setup, maintain, static data in various systems understanding the impact and flow down and upstream (across multiple systems including Endur, Equias and ICTS).
- Ability to review existing processes and improve including testing the function through to a go live state.
- Any other tasks as directed by your line manager.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Work based experience in Trade Support/Confirmations/Financial Operations and commodities.
- Excellent numerical and Excel skills.
- Strong system skills (Openlink/Endur).
- Previous exposure to European Power, European Gas & Emissions is a must.
- Experience of monitoring workflow by reliance on Risk Systems.
- Ideal but not a requirement, experience of the commodities physical market would be advantageous.
- Able to work independently without direct supervision but also happy working in a team on projects.
- Committed to seeing issues through until they are resolved.
- Project ownership and delivery experience.
