The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Our client is a global energy & commodity trading group and one of the most exciting and commercially driven Commodity Trading houses in the industry! The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate reconciliation and settlement of trades across a global portfolio, with a particular focus on Power, Gas, LNG, Metals, Derivatives and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The role encompasses the full settlement lifecycle, including reconciliation of trade data, confirmation, invoicing, payment processing, and issue resolution with counterparties.
Responsibilities:
- Perform timely and accurate settlement of trades across full product portfolios.
- Ensure reconciliation of trade details between counterparties and internal systems, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Manage the full settlement lifecycle, including confirmation, invoicing, cash flow allocation, and payment processing.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Middle Office, Traders, Accounting, Controllers, IT, and other Operations units to ensure seamless settlement operations.
- Support daily settlement activities across commodities, FX, interest rate swaps, asset loans, and other financial/physical products.
- Provide clear and consistent communication with external counterparties to resolve settlement queries efficiently.
- Deliver regular updates to management on settlement activity, outstanding issues, and key metrics.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline settlement processes, and enhance automation across products.
- Take ownership of process improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in settlement operations.
- Crosstrain across different product lines within the global settlement framework to support a flexible and resilient team.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in commodities settlements including at least some experience of UK & European Power and Gas, LNG, Oil Derivatives & Emissions.
- Experience in OTC collateral margining is an advantage.
- An excellent understanding of OTC commodities trade lifecycle.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in handling and analysing large datasets.
- Demonstrates ownership and commitment to seeing issues through to resolution.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Operational risk awareness.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent numerical and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Advantageous:
- Experience with ICTS or other commodity risk systems.
- VBA or Python coding knowledge is a plus.
