Working closely with Front Office, Risk and Operations teams, you'll play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of physical and financial energy markets, including Power, Gas, LNG, Emissions and Oil Derivatives.

As the Trade Support function continues to evolve, the team is investing heavily in automation, digitalisation and smarter control processes.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape this evolution by identifying process improvements, supporting systems enhancements and contributing to the adoption of AI-driven solutions that improve efficiency, scalability and control effectiveness.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Trade Support, Trade Control or Middle Office professional who can operate autonomously across controls, systems and regulatory topics, take ownership of end-to-end deliverables and act as a technical reference point for junior team members.

Act as a senior escalation point and subject matter expert across Trade Support activities, deputising for the Trade Support Manager where required.

Provide day-to-day guidance, review and coaching to junior analysts, ensuring the quality, accuracy and timeliness of their work while supporting their technical development.

Perform daily trade validation activities, ensuring physical and financial energy transactions are accurately, completely and promptly captured within the ETRM system.

Perform daily market price and curve validation activities, ensuring data accuracy in line with internal procedures.

Support the end-of-day process for physical and financial transactions, ensuring the timely production of Position and P&L reporting.

Execute daily market conformity controls across both physical and financial transactions.

Support the execution and documentation of internal control frameworks, including control evidence collection, issue identification and remediation tracking.

Support exchange and clearing activities, including reconciliations with clearing houses, broker fee validation, margin controls and issue resolution.

Ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies and external regulations.

Perform month-end and quarter-end control activities across physical and financial trading portfolios.

Support regulatory control activities, including reporting and reconciliations relating to EMIR, REMIT, Mi FID II and Dodd-Frank.

Lead automation and digitalisation initiatives within the Trade Support team, identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and scalability of control processes.

Support the assessment and implementation of AI-based solutions, system enhancements, testing and change initiatives.

Provide Trade Support input into the approval and onboarding of new products and non-standard trading activities.

Degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Risk Management or another numerate discipline.

Significant experience within Trade Support, Trade Control, Product Control, Middle Office, Market Risk or Risk Management in a commodity or financial trading environment.

Strong knowledge of Gas, Power, LNG, Emissions and/or Oil Derivatives.

Good understanding of risk metrics and internal control frameworks covering physical and financial trading activities.

Strong Excel skills, with experience of VBA preferred. Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python and Openlink Endur would be advantageous.

Experience supporting regulatory reporting and compliance activities relating to EMIR, REMIT, Mi FID II and Dodd-Frank.

A strong control mindset with the ability to identify issues, assess risk and escalate appropriately.
