Our client is a very successful International, integrated Energy Trading firm.
As a member of the Reporting teams, reporting to you will contribute fully to the coordination of among front, middle and back office (i.e. trading dept., risk control, legal, compliance, shipping and other back office) in relation with financial decisions within the organisation.
Furthermore, you will ensure the wider Finance function maintains quality and efficient compliance for all internal audit, external audit and statutory reporting requirements. You will build and strengthen relationships for Accounting & Reporting throughout the commercial and support functions of the business and with other teams within the Finance Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This role supports the Accounting & Reporting Manager, supporting the general delivery of the Accounting & Reporting team objectives and assisting with the range of activities that this entails.
- This role is a key part of the monthly close process for the business, supporting timely and accurate delivery of the month end reporting requirements and review processes.
- A key focus for this role throughout the year is managing the audit and statutory accounts processes from shortly after the year end, through the group audit and then statutory audit.
- This will include co-ordinating the deliverables, supporting the production of any supporting working and policy papers for the audit process surrounding accounting judgement, decisions and policies and will include managing the drafting of the Financial Statements.
- Assessing and assisting in delivery of improvement in processes and controls to drive forward efficient and accurate reporting, be that through reporting and analysis tools, IT enhancements, or process and control review.
- Assessing and assisting in the periodic Analytical Review and Balance Sheet Integrity processes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Degree in Finance/Banking/Commercial/Maritime Studies or equivalent.
- Suitable professional accounting qualification, and experience as an auditor an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years appropriate experience, with a portion of that being responsible for delivery of non-short-term projects/engagements.
- Experience in an energy or commodities trading environment would be an advantage, but not a necessity.
- An in depth understanding of FRS is essential, with experience in creating technical documentation an advantage.
- Excellent teamworking, networking, interpersonal and communication skills.
