Richard Irvin, an RSK Group company, is recruiting for an Apprentice Domestic Gas Service Engineer to join the team based in Inverness, UK. This is a full-time apprenticeship position. This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and ambitious individual to join an already thriving business and start or develop their career as they build on Richard Irvin’s established success. You will be required to spend block periods at college along with on-the-job training, working alongside a fully qualified Domestic Gas Service Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Help to carry out annual and interim maintenance visits in compliance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.
  • Help to carry out the installation/replacement of new or existing gas appliances and heat emitters.
  • Installation of gas pipework including appropriate tightness/strength testing as required.
  • Replacement of heating controls and components as per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Carry out Combustion Performance Analysis to gas appliances as required.
  • Fault investigation and diagnosis utilizing manufacturer’s technical literature.

  • IT Literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Hardworking, punctual, team player and trustworthy.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
