You need to be based within a commutable distance to the trust offices in Taunton and be able attend full board meetings in person. Reasonable travel expenses are able to be claimed.

Role Description

This is a Trustee (non-executive director) role. As a Director you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and governance oversight to the organisation, attending board meetings, joining committees to advise on specific areas of activity and collaborating with other board members to make key decisions. Roles are available now or as a planned succession move in the future – just get in touch to explore this further.

What is needed from you?

This is a voluntary role with a term of office of 4 years, with the option to extend for a further 4 years (total of two terms of office).

Attendance at board and committee meetings, times vary.

Time to scrutinise information, respond to communications and complete training.

  • knowledge and experience of working with finance;
  • are happy to take on a Foundation Director role and uphold Christian Values (you do not have to be a Christian or practising in any religion to do this);
  • knowledge and experience of a human resources;
  • knowledge and experience of audit and risk.
