We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Hunter New England team and play a key role in delivering the $140m Huntlee Schools Project. This major education precinct will include preschool, primary and high school facilities for up to 3,000 students, creating important social infrastructure for the rapidly growing Huntlee community. With construction commencing mid-2026, this is an opportunity to be involved from the early stages of delivery and contribute to a landmark project for the region.
The Opportunity
As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager and site team to coordinate design, manage subcontractors and drive construction outcomes across key trade packages. You will play a critical role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the high standards RCC is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and managing detailed design and technical inputs across key project disciplines
- Supporting the project team with programming, cost forecasting and procurement
- Managing subcontractor packages, including tendering, variations and progress claims
- Working with consultants and architects to resolve design issues and drive value engineering opportunities
- Supporting the Site Manager with site coordination and construction delivery
- Ensuring compliance with RCC safety systems, quality standards and project procedures
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being close to the action on site and is motivated to contribute to high-quality project delivery. You will ideally bring:
- 5+ years construction experience in a Project Engineer or Site Engineer role
- A Construction Management or Engineering degree
- Experience coordinating design and construction packages
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor management, procurement and cost reporting
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across project teams
- A genuine commitment to safety, quality and collaboration
