Richard Abson Group are currently assisting a well-established main car dealership in Chester in their search for an experienced Workshop Controller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, high-performing dealership where you will play a key role in the day-to-day management and efficiency of the workshop.

The Role

As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring work is allocated effectively and completed to the highest standard. You will manage the workflow of 18 Technicians while supporting 5 Service Advisors to maintain excellent customer service and maximise workshop productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and organising the daily workload of Technicians
  • Ensuring all servicing and repair work is completed efficiently and on time
  • Supporting Service Advisors to manage customer expectations
  • Monitoring workshop productivity and performance
  • Accurately recording Technician time and workshop activity
  • Producing technical reports and repair recommendations
  • Ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction

The Package

  • Basic Salary: £36,000
  • OTE: £48,000 (Uncapped)
  • Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (paid as overtime)

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or Senior Technician/Workshop Supervisor
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Experience within a main dealership environment is desirable
  • Ability to manage a busy workshop and motivate a team
