Role: We are seeking a Production and Flow Logistics Lead to support the effective manufacturing flow within the workshop, ensuring parts are available in a timely manner to achieve the manufacturing plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spend 50% of time on the shop floor and manufacturing areas gathering information and encouraging a pull/push system.
- Supervise a small, dedicated team to achieve role-specific actions.
- Ensure databases and updates are real-time so that the production schedule represents reality or as near to it as physically possible.
- Manage availability and maintenance of appropriate packaging for safe transportation, maintaining a damage‑free environment.
- Ensure parts are fully trackable within the manufacturing environment and visually linked to the production control tracking database.
- Ensure efficient material/parts flow through manufacturing, in line with the production schedule.
- Maintain effective logistical applications to safely transport material/parts throughout the entire manufacturing routes.
- Adhere to quality systems/processes and audits, health & safety procedures, and risk assessments within the area of responsibility.
Key Competencies and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar manufacturing environment using MRP systems and scheduling tools.
- Forward planning and forecasting are essential requirements for this role.
- Proven experience supervising a small interdependent team.
- Collaborative approach to achieve customer‑first objectives.
- Qualified to A‑level standard or completed a formal apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in similar roles within a complex busy manufacturing site.
- Knowledge and experience within a gear manufacturing site.
- In‑depth knowledge of lean principles.
