We are looking for a self-motivated Associate Director / Technical Director who can drive Ricardo’s private sector and international business growth across a portfolio of services that includes industrial decarbonisation and CCUS, waste and resource management and sustainability, and lead project delivery in one of these areas.

Key Responsibilities

The successfulcandidate will be working in a team, carrying out various activities including:

  • Programme Management for multiple projects.
  • Supporting bids and proposal.
  • Client relationship management.
  • Providing technical leadership to project teams.
  • Managing project portfolio including technical and financial performance.
  • Managing quality assurance on projects.
  • Managing the development of staff and providing them mentoring and coaching support.
  • Supporting and contributing to the developmentof the business plans and growth strategy.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of energy-intensive processes / industries and/or CCUS, or waste and resource management, and net zero, decarbonisation or sustainability.
  • Familiarity with evolving industrial, sustainability and decarbonisation context and trends.
  • Deep technical experience related to industrial decarbonisation and CCUS, waste and resource management or sustainability, ideally supported by experience of winning and delivering assignments in these disciplines in multiple countries.
  • Excellent consulting skills, with ability to develop other team members. These skills would including project leadership, problem solving, working with data, client/stakeholder leadership, project management, research, analysis, stakeholder management, technical project delivery, multi-tasking, organisation, attention to detail, critical thinking and communication (oral and written), ability to balance competing scope/time/cost/resource pressure deadlines across multiple projects, and working with a distributed team.
  • Excellent business development skills include networking, opportunity identification, sales pipeline management, proposal development, partnering, and negotiating pricing and commercial terms.
  • Experience with working with different countries and industry sectors.
  • Willingness to travel locally and overseas.
