Quality Assurance Inspector within a precision manufacturing environment. Report directly to the Head of Compliance, ensuring all technicians and inspectors meet required inspection standards.
Responsibilities
- Adjust and refine the audit plan as needed, responding to findings or operational priorities.
- Identify and resolve routine inspection issues, applying logical and methodical problem‑solving skills.
- Audit approximately 20 team members, including weekly reviews of new starters to assess capability and correct use of inspection tools.
- Produce weekly reports summarising audit activity and maintain an up‑to‑date capability matrix to determine individual audit intervals.
- Establish, maintain and continuously improve an objective and robust audit process.
- Provide guidance and act as a technical reference for colleagues performing similar inspection and auditing work.
- Recommend appropriate audit frequencies for each individual based on audit findings and identified quality escapes.
- Conduct periodic auditing of the night shift and weekend night shift (about once per month).
- Operate primarily during the day shift; occasional travel may be required to support operational needs.
- Perform work with no direct customer‑facing activities.
Qualifications
- Experienced senior inspector of precision‑machined components within a batch manufacturing environment.
- Fully conversant with engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively across teams while holding colleagues accountable for inspection capability.
- Experience in both product and process auditing.
- A thorough, uncompromising individual who can positively influence KPI’s and strengthen the quality culture.

- Background inspecting low‑volume precision‑steels and castings.
- Knowledge of gears and gear geometry.
- Computer literacy.
- Proactive, innovative approach to supporting continuous improvement.
- Ability to recommend appropriate audit frequencies for each individual based on audit findings.
Working Hours
- Primarily day shift.
- Periodic auditing of the night shift and weekend night shift (approximately once per month).
- No routine travel expected; occasional travel may be necessary.
