We’re hiring a market-facing electricity expert to help lead and grow Ricardo’s Electricity Market Outlook, our flagship product providing forward-looking insights into European power markets. This role is for someone who thrives in front of clients and on stage, presenting analysis, guiding strategic discussions, and creating compelling content that shapes industry thinking. You’ll combine deep knowledge of European wholesale electricity markets with strong communication skills to deliver standout client experiences and create trusted, high-impact insight. You’ll work across delivery, product development, and thought leadership, turning complex market dynamics into clarity for our clients, whether in 1:1 conversations, boardroom workshops, industry conferences, or published content. You’ll also play a key role in building and evolving the Electricity Market Outlook product itself, working closely with modelling analysts, consultants, and sector experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing delivery of our Electricity Market Outlook from tailored briefings and workshops to strategic consulting and deep-dive analysis.
- Translate complex market modelling and analysis into accessible, actionable insights for clients across sectors.
- Act as a visible expert on European power markets, representing Ricardo at industry events, conferences, webinars, and in client meetings.
- Produce thought leadership that shapes market conversation including articles, white papers, presentation decks, and media commentary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across utilities, investors, regulators, and market operators.
- Gather quantitative and qualitative data on your region to inform the modelling team, whilst using this insight to guide regional or thematic research priorities in collaboration with our modelling and consulting teams.
- Work with marketing and communications teams to grow our brand presence and thought leadership across digital and industry channels.
- Support business development, including identifying opportunities, shaping proposals, and engaging prospects.
- Provide strategic input into the growth and evolution of the Electricity Market Outlook product and related services.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Deep understanding of electricity markets particularly in European Wholesale Electricity Markets and can confidently communicate complex issues to senior decision-makers.
- Comfortable talking to traders, strategy teams, policymakers, and investors.
- Strong grasp of European power market fundamentals, regulation, and price dynamics.
- Experience presenting to senior audiences with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A track record of producing high-quality content, briefings, and thought leadership.
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a growing, mission-driven team.
- An entrepreneurial approach and desire to shape a product and its future direction.
