Salary: Contractor rate £22.06 per hour inclusive of 20% shift premium and benefits / Permanent Salary £42,400 - £43,500 inclusive of 20% shift premium, plus benefits
The Role
This position supports small batch CNC turning work for high-quality transmission components in motorsport and aerospace, working within a small, focused team and supported by offline programming tools.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and planning route cards to produce components to the highest quality, within routed timeframes
- Experience working on CNC lathes, including:
- Victor Turn II 26 HD
- Leadwell LTC 25iL with Siemens 828D
- Doosan Puma GT3100
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls is essential; knowledge of Siemens controls is advantageous
- Ability to read, understand, and edit CNC programmes, including adjusting speeds and feeds as necessary
- Working knowledge of turning tips and their correct applications
- Advantageous: experience operating a small manual lathe and/or Harrison Alpha 400 Plus NC lathe
- Comfortable working in a small team with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Flexible in supporting other areas of manufacturing when required
- Willingness to work additional hours to help meet delivery deadlines
