We are seeking to appoint an approachable, passionate and highly skilled Orangery Duty Manager for our 2 AA Rosette restaurant. The main purpose of the job is to support the Orangery Management in ensuring the smooth running of the department, exceeding customer expectations and supporting the team to deliver exceptional customer service. This is an opportunity for career development.

You will play a key supportive role in establishing the Orangery as the fine place to dine, maintaining a regular presence and circulating freely during service to invite comments, resolve any issues and continually check on guest satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of Orangery in the absence of the Orangery Management.
  • Assist the Orangery Management with the operational objectives of the business and ensure tight control on costs is achieved in line with the P & L.
  • Support the Orangery Management with the training and development of the team and ensure department training objectives are met.
  • Ensure all company H & S and Food Safety objectives and standards are achieved and that any faults are raised directly with the Orangery Management or the H&S Advisor.
  • Focus on service standards in the business and, in conjunction with the Learning & Development team, continue to improve the overall professional standards.
  • Communicate effectively with all areas of the overall business to facilitate high standards across Ribby Hall Village.
  • Ensure The Orangery operates to its maximum potential, upselling at all opportunities.
  • Have full product knowledge of all menus.

Our perfect match will possess the following essential attributes:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a Supervisory or Management role.
  • WSET qualification is desired but not essential.
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Excellent Food & Liquor control skills.
  • The ability to manage, motivate and inspire a team to ensure the smooth running of The Orangery.
  • A thorough knowledge of Allergens.
  • An exceptional level of front of house service.
  • Evidence of previous responsibility for Health and Safety Compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding customer service.
  • Resilience and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent personal presentation.

Availability: The position is full time, offering 45 hours over 5 days, in a department that operates 7 days a week. Full flexibility to work weekends, early mornings and evenings is essential to meet the commercial needs of the business.
