Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking to join a highly inclusive secondary school where your expertise can make a genuine difference? A well-regarded secondary school in Newham is seeking a skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join from September 2026 on a full-time basis until July 2027, with the potential to extend beyond the academic year.

The school has developed a strong reputation for its commitment to inclusion, ensuring students with additional needs are fully supported both academically and pastorally. Working across KS3 and KS4, you will support pupils with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, SEMH and moderate learning needs. The school benefits from a dedicated SEND team and strong links with external agencies, creating a collaborative environment where specialist support staff are highly valued.

What the School Offers:
  • £444–£513 per week via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
  • Full-time contract from September 2026 until July 2027 with potential extension
  • 33.5 working hours per week, including half-days on Fridays

You will provide targeted support for students with SEND through 1:1, small-group and classroom-based interventions. Working closely with teachers, families and support services, you will help pupils access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual targets.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has substantial experience supporting students with SEND within a school setting
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Is confident working with a range of additional needs and support strategies
  • Remains calm, proactive and solution-focused in a busy school environment
