Starting in September and lasting for the duration of the 2025-26 academic year, this Primary Teaching Assistant role is based at a wonderful Primary School in Surbiton and will allow you to get fully immersed within the day-to-day life of a busy, vibrant Primary School; learning from inspiring Primary Teachers each and every day.

Job Summary

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and whole-class support for pupils of all abilities, including some pupils who have SEN. You will work very closely with Class Teachers and be expected to confidently deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to drive up attainment levels within literacy and numeracy. You will monitor pupil progress and encourage social skills.

Job Requirements
  • Excellent academic record including minimum of a 2:1 degree classification
  • Strong subject knowledge within English and Maths
  • A desire to inspire young people and unlock their learning potential
  • Enthusiastic, confident and approachable personality
  • Ability to create an encouraging learning environment for pupils
  • Ability to remain calm even in stressful situations
  • Knowledge or previous experience working with children who have SEN is desirable
