We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Primary Class Teacher to join a welcoming specialist SEN school in Hackney, supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or aspiring specialist educator to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with complex learning needs. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised lessons within a supportive environment, helping pupils develop their communication, independence, social skills, and academic abilities.
As a Primary Class Teacher, you will plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual needs and abilities. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to implement personalised learning programmes, support pupils' communication and sensory needs, and monitor their progress.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in a primary setting; SEN experience is highly desirable
- Understanding of Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and strategies for supporting pupils with complex needs
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons suited to individual learning abilities
- Experience supporting communication, sensory, and developmental needs is desirable
- Strong classroom management and behaviour-support skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work alongside Teaching Assistants and other professionals
- Patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach
- Genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs achieve their potential
