Speech and Language Assistant – Brent – Immediate Start
Are you a Speech and Language Assistant looking to gain hands-on school-based experience in Brent before pursuing Speech and Language Therapy, Teaching, Psychology or SEN?
This Speech and Language Assistant role is ideal for a graduate who wants practical experience supporting pupils with communication, interaction, language and social development needs.

- £95-110 per day PAYE
- Full-time, term-time only role
- Immediate start available
- Based in Brent
- Long-term role for the full academic year
- Excellent experience for aspiring Speech and Language Therapists
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
- Speech and Language Assistant | The Role
- Support pupils with speech, language and communication needs
- Provide 1:1, small-group and in-class support
- Help pupils develop vocabulary, confidence, attention, listening and social interaction
- Support pupils with Autism, speech delay, Developmental Language Disorder or EHCP targets
- Follow communication strategies and intervention plans
- Help pupils access learning, routines and peer interaction throughout the school day
- Record progress and share updates with teaching and SEN staff
- Speech and Language Assistant | Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Psychology, Linguistics, English Language, Education or a related subject preferred
- Strong interest in Speech and Language Therapy, SEND or child development
- Calm, patient and consistent approach
- Clear communication skills and strong spoken English
- Previous experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential
- Reliable, professional and able to commit for the full academic year
