A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Chingford is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant from September 2026. This opportunity is particularly well suited to a graduate with prior EYFS experience looking to gain valuable school-based experience before progressing into teacher training or wider child development roles. The school is recognised for its strong Early Years provision, inclusive ethos and carefully structured approach to early learning.

Children within Nursery and Reception benefit from a curriculum centred around communication, language development, phonics and early mathematical understanding. Leaders have invested heavily in high-quality indoor and outdoor learning environments, creating engaging spaces that encourage exploration, creativity and independence. Early Years outcomes remain consistently strong, with a high proportion of pupils meeting expected developmental milestones by the end of Reception. SEND provision is also a key strength, with targeted support and specialist intervention available for children requiring additional help.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting Nursery and Reception pupils across daily EYFS provision
  • Delivering targeted phonics, literacy and communication interventions
  • Assisting with structured play-based learning activities
  • Supporting children with SEND and speech and language needs
  • Contributing to observations and monitoring pupil progress

What the school offers:

  • Experienced EYFS leadership and strong classroom support systems
  • Well-resourced learning environments and outdoor provision
  • Regular training focused on phonics, child development and SEND
  • A collaborative EYFS team with experienced practitioners and mentors
  • Excellent preparation for graduates considering teacher training

The successful candidate must have previous EYFS experience alongside excellent communication skills, patience and enthusiasm for supporting young children during the early stages of education.
