What the Role Involves:
- Supporting D&T teachers across KS3 and KS4 to deliver engaging, practical, and skills-based lessons
- Assisting pupils safely and confidently in workshop and studio settings with tools, materials, and equipment
- Working with small groups to reinforce key design, making, and evaluative skills
- Contributing to the safe, well-organised running of the D&T workshop environment throughout the school day
- Building encouraging, creative relationships with pupils to develop their confidence and enjoyment of the subject
What the School is Looking For:
The ideal D&T Teaching Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university, ideally in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related creative or technical discipline. Previous child-centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a practical, creative, and safety-conscious D&T Teaching Assistant with strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for design and making. Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
Salary and Contract Info:
- £444 per week, pro rata to term time only
- Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
