As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a key role in improving students' behaviour, achievement and self-esteem by delivering targeted pastoral and behaviour interventions. Working alongside teachers, pastoral leaders and families, you will help students overcome barriers to learning, promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
You will draw upon your understanding of child development and the impact of home and school factors on students' motivation, attitudes and performance. You may also provide emergency classroom cover for teaching staff when required, ensuring learning continues with minimal disruption.
Behaviour Support Officer – Person Specification:
- 2:1 or First-Class degree from a UK university
- Previous experience working in a secondary school or with young people is essential
- Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
- Resilient, proactive and passionate about improving student outcomes
- Aspirations to build a long-term career within education
