A secondary school in Hounslow is recruiting a History Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. This History Teaching Assistant role is ideal for individuals considering teacher training in history or the humanities. You will be working alongside experienced history teachers, helping to deliver lessons, run small group interventions, and provide one-to-one support for pupils preparing for exams.

As a History Teaching Assistant, you will help pupils develop critical thinking, essay writing, and source analysis skills. You will also assist with revision sessions, support debates and discussions, and ensure pupils are confident in tackling historical themes and exam questions.

This History Teaching Assistant role provides excellent classroom experience for those planning to pursue a PGCE, tutoring, or further study in history or education.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils in history lessons and study sessions
