  • Have previous experience working with children through schools, tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering.

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.

  • Be proactive, adaptable, and confident in building positive relationships with pupils.

  • Be interested in developing a long-term career in education, teaching, Educational Psychology, or specialist SEN support.

SEN Teaching Assistant – Why This School?

  • Gain valuable hands-on experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

  • Work alongside an experienced and supportive team of teachers and SEN professionals.

  • Develop practical skills in inclusive education, behaviour support, and personalised learning.

  • Build a strong foundation for future teacher training, postgraduate study, or a career in Educational Psychology.

  • Make a meaningful difference to pupils’ academic progress, confidence, and overall development.
