Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact on their wellbeing and education? If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming secondary school in Barking & Dagenham.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students aged 11‐16 who require additional guidance to engage positively with school life. Working closely with pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and behavioural needs, you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 mentoring and small‐group interventions for students with additional needs.
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and emotional regulation difficulties.
  • Collaborate closely with experienced SEN professionals, pastoral leaders, and inclusion staff.
  • Assist students in developing confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
Qualifications
  • Can build positive relationships with young people.
  • Has previous experience working with children or young adults.
  • Is passionate about supporting students with additional needs.
  • Is considering a future career in education, psychology, counselling, or mental health support.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, patience, and resilience.
  • Can act as a positive role model for students.
