Second in Charge of English (2iC English) Hounslow September 2025 Start

A high-performing secondary school in Hounslow is hiring a Second in Charge of English (2iC English) to join their team from September 2025.

This role is ideal for an experienced English teacher ready to advance their career. You will work closely with the Head of English to deliver high-quality teaching, support curriculum development, and lead interventions to raise attainment across KS3 and KS4 (with some KS5 possible).

The school seeks a passionate, reliable, and confident Second in Charge of English who will support staff mentoring, literacy initiatives, and subject planning to improve departmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help lead the English curriculum and assessment strategy
• Mentor junior staff and support classroom development
• Monitor student progress and plan interventions
• Lead on a focus area such as KS4 or literacy

Person Specification:

• UK QTS and a degree in English or a related subject
• Strong classroom experience across KS3 and KS4
• Prior mentoring or leadership experience is a plus
