SLCN Teacher Islington | Speech, Language & CommunicationAre you a teacher who enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to communication, learning and confidence ?A specialist SEN school in Islington is looking for a teacher to work with pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) .
You don't need to be a specialist SLCN teacher already. We're interested in hearing from Primary, EYFS, English and SEN teachers who have a genuine interest in communication and language development.
The Role Teach pupils with speech, language and communication needs
Plan engaging and accessible lessons around individual abilities
Adapt teaching, instructions and resources to support different communication needs
Develop pupils' confidence and ability to communicate
Support language, literacy and wider learning
Use visual, practical and interactive approaches
Work closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff
Monitor progress and contribute to individual targets
Create a calm and structured learning environment
Help pupils develop greater independence
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
QTS qualified
A confident and engaging classroom teacher
Patient, creative and adaptable
Strong at building relationships
Interested in communication and language development
Able to adapt teaching to individual needs
You do not need to be a Speech and Language Therapist . This is a teaching position.
