What the Role Involves:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEMH needs throughout the school day
- Implementing strategies outlined in pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans under SENDCO and therapeutic team guidance
- Supporting pupils through de-escalation, emotional regulation, and reintegration following difficult periods
- Maintaining accurate, sensitive records of pupil wellbeing, behaviour, and progress to inform wider MDT planning
- Building consistent, safe, and trusted relationships with pupils and families that underpin long-term positive development
What the School is Looking For:
The ideal SEMH Support Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or complex needs in a UK school or educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a calm, resilient, and deeply compassionate SEMH Support Assistant with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine vocation for working with some of education's most vulnerable young people. Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
Salary and Contract Info:
- £444 per week, pro rata to term time only
- Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
