A specialist SEND school is looking for an experienced and compassionate Positive Behaviour Lead to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a behaviour professional who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs, helping them develop positive coping strategies, emotional regulation and greater independence.
The Role
- Lead the development and implementation of positive behaviour strategies
- Support staff in managing complex and challenging behaviour
- Develop individual behaviour support and intervention plans
- Analyse behavioural patterns and identify appropriate interventions
- Coach and support staff in de-escalation and positive behaviour approaches
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to improve pupil engagement
- Liaise with families and external professionals where appropriate
- Contribute to training and whole-school behaviour development
- Promote a calm, consistent and nurturing school environment
About You
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH
- Strong knowledge of positive behaviour support and behaviour management
- Experience supporting pupils with complex or challenging needs
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, patient and solution-focused approach
- The ability to coach and influence colleagues
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils
- Experience with autism, communication needs, trauma-informed practice or restrictive intervention frameworks would be advantageous.
