As a Pastoral Support Mentor, you will work closely with Year 12 and Year 13 students, providing pastoral, behavioural and academic support while helping them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities of a Pastoral Support Mentor

  • Provide pastoral, behavioural and academic support to Sixth Form students.
  • Monitor attendance, wellbeing and engagement through interventions, parental liaison and home visits.
  • Support behaviour management and supervise independent study provision.
  • Deliver one-to-one mentoring and targeted GCSE English intervention.
  • Guide students with UCAS applications, personal statements, CV writing, apprenticeships and post-18 pathways.
  • Organise university visits, careers events, enrichment opportunities and work experience.
  • Work alongside teachers, families and external agencies to improve student outcomes.
  • Maintain safeguarding records and contribute to the school's pastoral and wellbeing provision.

The successful Pastoral Support Mentor will be a graduate with ambitions to pursue teaching, Educational Psychology or another education-focused career.

Previous experience supporting young people is desirable but not essential.
