We are looking for a dedicated ASD 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Camden.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Graduate or aspiring education professional to gain valuable experience supporting a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate will join a supportive team committed to helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
As an ASD 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a pupil with ASD, helping them access learning and develop their confidence, independence, emotional regulation, and social skills. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor progress, support behaviour, and ensure the pupil receives the appropriate level of individualised support.
Requirements:
1:1 or 2:1 degree from a leading UK university
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is preferred
Experience supporting pupils with ASD or additional learning needs is desirable
Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs
Committed to developing a career within education or SEND
