What the Role Involves

  • Delivering targeted phonics, reading, and writing intervention sessions to individuals and small groups across the primary age range

  • Working with pupils identified as requiring additional literacy support, using structured, evidence-based programmes
  • Tracking pupil reading and writing progress and feeding back regularly to the class teacher and English lead

The ideal Literacy Teaching Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university, ideally in English, Education, or a related Humanities discipline. Previous child-centred experience in a UK primary school setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a passionate, patient, and creative Literacy Teaching Assistant with strong communication skills and a genuine love of language, reading, and writing.

Salary and Contract Info

  • £444 per week, pro rata to term time only
  • Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
